  17. To get an approximately  correct  answer.   After  all,  the
  18. value  365.25  is  just an average.  It's either 365 or 366,
  19. and SAS date values *should* be integers.
  20.  
  21. The collection of date  and  time  functions,  formats,  and
  22. informats provided by SAS is pretty extensive and versatile.
  23. I suggest working with these tools wherever possible.
