- (1) If NB 4.0 never appears, NB 3.1 is still the best academic word
- processor there is, and will meet all the needs philosophy students
- have or ever likely to have. It doesn't become moribund, if it never
- has a successor: disks may wear out, but programs on them don't.

- (2) As for the Kaypro version of Perfect Writer, that is a good case
- in point. I know people who are still using it, and still satisfied
- with it. I even use it myself occasionally, as I still have a Kaypro
- 10. And, if Perfect Writer users must keep up with the times, there
- is Emacs for them, both on MSDOS and on UNIX: I use that almost every
- day for email.
