- Dear Fellow Listmembers,
-
- I was dismayed by whoever it was -- I don't remember his name --
- who, two or three days ago, put the big chill on discussions of all
- but technical matters. I look to this list for technical help,
- certaintly, but I also look to it for more wide-ranging, general
- discussions about what people are thinking and feeling as they use (and
- wait for) NotaBene. I don't want to sit here alone, wondering if other
- people are as confused and upset with NBI as I am. And, conversely, I'm
- enormously grateful for the chance to hear what other people are
- thinking and feeling. NO ONE has the right to limit or cut
- off our conversation because he or she doesn't like a particular
- turn it may have taken. You don't have to read every single item;
- you can always scan the subject line and delete what you don't want
- to read. This list will be less interesting and less helpful if
- contributors must now write under the glare of The Father's eye.
- I hope our conversation can resume its former rambunctious-
- ness and livliness. I miss the exchange of opinions and view-
- points; that's every bit as valuable as the exchange of technical
- information.
