  13. My personal guess is that many problems with NB4 and Ibid come from the
  14. <ascii 255>-codes, which at least Lingua uses to list accented and
  15. other non-plain-English characters. An entry in Ibid done from Lingua
  16. which uses any such code (remember: "one easy stroke and you get all the
  17. attractive characters...") led to the result that this entry could not
  18. be found again except by its number (but who knows the numbers of 3000+
  19. records?). The <ascii 255>-coding has advantages (sp?) but also some
  20. severe limitations: it allows searching with wildcards but not
  21. *replacing* with wildcards. BTW, this is another feature that would
  22. convince me of the necessity of an update. Does anyone know if NB4
  23. can search+replace with W/L/S etc. jokers? Signature does, I'm told.
