- My personal guess is that many problems with NB4 and Ibid come from the
- <ascii 255>-codes, which at least Lingua uses to list accented and
- other non-plain-English characters. An entry in Ibid done from Lingua
- which uses any such code (remember: "one easy stroke and you get all the
- attractive characters...") led to the result that this entry could not
- be found again except by its number (but who knows the numbers of 3000+
- records?). The <ascii 255>-coding has advantages (sp?) but also some
- severe limitations: it allows searching with wildcards but not
- *replacing* with wildcards. BTW, this is another feature that would
- convince me of the necessity of an update. Does anyone know if NB4
- can search+replace with W/L/S etc. jokers? Signature does, I'm told.
