  13. I'm surprised that IBM still supports MVS/SP now, so I'd be surprised
  14. if they extend the support.  And, as of the end of this year (I think;
  15. somebody correct me if I'm wrong), MVS/XA will no longer be marketed.
  16. MVS/ESA runs on all currently marketed IBM processors, so there's no
  17. business case for IBM to support ancient versions, and MVS/SP V1 is
  18. certainly ancient.  They probably figure they're not making any money
  19. on selling you a newer processor, so they they may as well cut their
  20. maintenance costs by dropping old software versions.
