- I'm surprised that IBM still supports MVS/SP now, so I'd be surprised
- if they extend the support. And, as of the end of this year (I think;
- somebody correct me if I'm wrong), MVS/XA will no longer be marketed.
- MVS/ESA runs on all currently marketed IBM processors, so there's no
- business case for IBM to support ancient versions, and MVS/SP V1 is
- certainly ancient. They probably figure they're not making any money
- on selling you a newer processor, so they they may as well cut their
- maintenance costs by dropping old software versions.
