- Allow me to introduce myself: I am a Danish Research Librarian
- and Information Scientist, who is very interested in CMC use in
- the information field (libraries, scientific communication,
- etc.).

- I am looking for people who share the same interest.

- I would like to inform you about my Ph.D. Thesis which has been
- published just now. The subject is Library and Information
- Science and its title is:

- "Electronic Mail and the Information Professional. A study of
- Computer-Mediated Communication and its future prospects in the
- information field." 1992, 308 pages. ISBN 87-984180-0-9.

- The Thesis has been submitted to (and approved by) the
- Department of Information Science, The Aarhus School of Business
- Administration, Economics, and Modern Languages, Denmark. The
- main academic supervisor was Professor, Fil.dr. Irene Wormell,
- Royal School of Librarianship, Copenhagen. On the 12th June 1992
- I defended it publically at the Aarhus Business School.

- The intended audience is any information professional, including
- graduate Library and Information Science students. Among the
- topics treated are: Information Science and Communication
- Research, information work automation, human factors, new roles,
- new working conditions, new qualifications, CMC (E-mail, BBS,
- Electronic Conferencing), Decision Support Systems, CSCW, CMC
- for information professionals. Empirical findings from
- bibliometric surveys and a Delphi study (forecasting future CMC
- use) are analyzed.

- The price of the Thesis is USD 35 + first class postage (USD 7
- for European countries, USD 11 for other countries). Price in
- GBP: 20 + first class postage (GBP 4 in Europe). If you pay by
