- I just bought a vax 4000/500 for the purpose of compute server for some
- workstations. We found out we could not run our application software that
- we wrote on the server because we used Motif and it was not licensed for
- Motif. The vaxstations came with net-app-sup-250 which includes motify
- license, but the vax itself did not. Basically for the past few weeks we
- have been unable to use our vax 4000/500 for anything other than compiling.
- I was not advised that I would need a Motif license. It is a big problem.
- Here's hoping a GNU Motif comes along so we can have an open system
- interface that is available at no cost or at least a vms port of X-windows
- so we can run standard MIT release stuff.
