- Kinda depends on what type of law materials you are talking about. As
- a lapsed law firm librarian, I recall there was some outfit in Nebraska
- that was planning to put the regional reporters on CD-ROM. I was never
- sure how they were going to avoid a conflict with West Pub. Co., which
- produces those reporters. But that was several years ago and I have
- since gone on to other things. I know West has put some of their stuff
- on CD. If you have their books already, your West Publishing rep can
- probably give you the details. If not, you're most likely talking about
- some other law books. We have looked at a tax & estate law CD from
- Research Institute of America (RIA), but elected to pass on it in favor
- of providing public access Lexis terminals. Again, your local rep can
- get you the details. We did have Matthew Bender's tax law CD, but
- cancelled it a year or so back. And back in the dark ages (1987 or 1988)
- I got a fist-hand look at a prototype CD from Commerce Clearing House
- (CCH). Your best bet, if you just want electronic versions of materials
- you already have, is to talk to the representative who sold you the
- print versions. In my experience, they can give the details about
- CD-ROM versions.
