  20. /summon is a neat idea, but given the current "mission" (out of lack of
  21. a better word) of IRC, and availible alternatives, I really isn't essential.
  22. I'd like to see IRC coders work on other problems or features (cf. ircd-three
  23. mailing list) before messing around with /summon.

  25. However, if IRC is to become the "new talk(1)" of the net, as I understand
  26. the original IRC.writer(s) in Finland intended, then /summon ought to
  27. be worked out, if only to have something analagous to a "talk request" --
  28. an IRC summons.  (oooh!  Sounds ominous!  :)
