- I agree with this. Just why are so many people preoccupied with what
- sex a user is? I just can't stand people who ask me if I am male or
- female as their first message to me. Does it really matter? I mean
- if a person is on IRC to meet new people and make new friends, does
- gender really make that big a difference? Sometimes when I do ask, I
- just reply, Does it matter? And if they say yes, well then, so much
- for that conversation.

-
- I wholeheartedly agree with this also. I detest the idea of some luser
- asking me if I want to have net.sex or something stoopit like that. And,
- frankly, I just don't want to be bothered with it. And, how many of us
- want to see IRC turn into something that isnt anything more than another
- singles' bar? I mean I know that there are some really decent channels
- where people can get together and chat about things with some civility
- and respect. Introduction of a gender setting will only bring on a decline
- of such respect.
