- We are running Pathway server NFS version 2.0. We have a common directory
- that we would like various systems to have read access to via nfs.
- We have no problem with workstations but we have a problem with pc-nfs.
- We discovered that if we had publicaccess with no hosts specified, the
- workstation users had to have a usruid entry in order to access
- the files. The workstation user had our desired read only access. From
- the PC however, no usruid match was required and the pc user had unlimited
- access to the files. When we made a usruid entry for UNIX uid -2 (nobody) to
- a nonpriviledged account, the pcuser still had unlimited access to the
- files. Is there something we should be doing that is not called out
- in the documentation? The problem seems to disappear when we
- call out hosts explicitly or remove public access. However, we are talking
- 50+hosts and a lot of potential users.
