- I've noticed that MULTINET's TALK has the same problem that UNIX
- talk has, probably because it's based on the same code. Neither can
- take a "." in the LHS of the @, the username. I've seen the code for
- UNIX talk and there is a section where a number of special characters
- are searched for and removed, "." being one of them.
-
- Is there a reason that "."'s aren't allowed in usernames? I've got
- lots of users with "."'s in their usernames and they are curious, as am
- I, about why "."'s aren't allowed.
-
- Thanks much.
