- No way to, and no reason to. MultiNet picks an appropriate
- retransmission timer based on the round-trip time it observes, using
- Van Jacobson's algorithm.

- I'd expect it to be a lot closer to twice as fast. What kind of
- modems are you running? If you're using PEP modems, SLIP is going to
- be slower because of the round-trip characteristics of PEP. I'd
- recommend V.32bis modems for SLIP.
