  17.     No way to, and no reason to.  MultiNet picks an appropriate
  18. retransmission timer based on the round-trip time it observes, using
  19. Van Jacobson's algorithm.

  25.     I'd expect it to be a lot closer to twice as fast. What kind of
  26. modems are you running? If you're using PEP modems, SLIP is going to
  27. be slower because of the round-trip characteristics of PEP. I'd
  28. recommend V.32bis modems for SLIP.
