  34.     Just start up MAIL, READ any and all new mail messages.  When you
  35. are _sure_ there are NO NEW MAIL messages left to read (I don't mean you
  36. have to delete them, you just need to have read them), then type READ/NEW
  37. and exit:

  40.     MAIL> READ
  41.     MAIL> READ
  42.                .
  43.                .
  44.                .
  45.     MAIL> READ
  46.     %MAIL-E-NOMOREMSG, no more messages
  47.  
  48.     MAIL> READ/NEW
  49.     %MAIL-W-NONEWMAIL, no new messages

  51.     MAIL> EXIT

  53. The new mail count has now been reset to zero...
