  15.        But when the Israelites cried out to the Lord,
  16.    the Lord raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud son
  17.    of Gera, the Benjaminite, a left handed man.  The
  18.    Israelites sent a tribute by him to King Eglon of
  19.    Moab.  Ehud made for himself a sword with two edges,
  20.    a cubit in length; and he fastened it on his right
  21.    thigh under his clothes.  Then he presented the
  22.    tribute to King Eglon of Moab.  Now Eglon was a
  23.    very fat man.  When Ehud had finished presenting
  24.    the tribute, he sent the people who carried the
  25.    tribute on their way.  But he himself turned back
  26.    at the sculptured stones near Gilgal, and said,
  27.    "I have a secret message for you O king."  So the
  28.    king said, "Silence!" and all his attendants went
  29.    out from his presence.  Ehud came to him, while
  30.    he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber, and
  31.    said, "I have a message from God for you."  So he
  32.    rose from his seat.  Then Ehud reached with his
  33.    left hand, took the sword from his right thigh,
  34.    and thrust it into Eglon's belly;  the hilt also
  35.    went in after the blade, and the fat closed over the
  36.    blade, for he did not draw the sword out of his belly;
  37.    and the dirt came out.  Then Ehud went out into the
  38.    vestibule, and closed the doors of the roof chamber
  39.    on him, and locked them.
