- OK, let me explain a little bit about how things work in this country.
-
- Al Gore is a U.S. Senator representing the state of Tennessee. As such,
- he has NO control over what goes on in Tennesee. A U.S. Senator can only
- pass laws for the Federal government.
-
- But let's pretend that he could pass laws for the state of Tennessee. If
- this were true, he would still have to convince others in the legislature
- to vote with him. If the majority of the lawmakers in Tennessee saw the
- political dangers of voting against the TVA, it would be very hard for
- someone (like Gore) to get legislation passed to clean things up.

- P.S. as a side issue, I am sure the original poster actually knows how things
- work and just ignored it to make his point. However, I have seen an
- incredible number of postings from people who don't have a clue about how
- our government works. Now when I was in junior high school in a small school
- in middle Georgia (26 miles from Plains), all this stuff was crammed down my
- throat and I remember most of it, even though I haven't used it in years.
- Don't tell me that I actually got an education in that crummy place.
