  16. I wouldn't call it 'being led astray'.  You're being confronted with
  17. reasoning that you've never explored before, and points of view that
  18. the people you usually associate with tend to avoid.  You're only 'led
  19. astray' if you blindly follow whatever reasoning sounds good at the
  20. moment.  What you _should_ do is examine what you read here, be a
  21. skeptic, decide if the views you read in this newsgroup are or aren't
  22. what you yourself believe, and decide how your heart tells you to
  23. respond to the issues here.

  34. Let me just remind you that this is the United States -- we enjoy
  35. separation of church and state.  Not everybody in this great land is
  36. Christian (I know I'm not).  I wouldn't want you telling me how I
  37. should run my life any more than you would want me telling you how to
  38. run your life; while I understand how much pro-life means to you, I'd
  39. suggest that it's a religious position _only_ and has no place in
  40. politics.
