  20. I used to think so too, but all the talk about killing is a means to an end.
  21. Among all the "pro-life" groups I have come into contact with (a fair number,
  22. with a fairly wide geographical distribution) I found a few things in common.
  23. Legislation is always on the agenda.  Some may work in different areas, but
  24. those groups who target abortion always have legislation as one of their
  25. cornerstones.  This is not to say that is all they do, but it is to say
  26. they all do that.  Also,  simply stating that you are opposed to legislation
  27. without mentioning (or mentioning, if you get the chance) is frowned upon
  28. so much that it is made quite clear that you are unwelcome.

  30. Also, so many make exceptions for rape and incest that the "killing"
  31. angle is somewhat subject to the reason behind the killing.

  33. No, the issue isn't killing in and of itself, it is something else.  The
  34. killing plucks some heartstrings, and it attracts some well-meaning
  35. people, but the reason behind it is elsewhere.  Near as I can figure it
  36. is control, although I may be wrong, but it sure isn't killing
  37.
