  11. The issue is control,  In itself, the issue is rather simple.
  12. Some argue that women should have control over their own bodies,
  13. while some argue that they should not.  The amount of control is
  14. often what flavors opinions here.  Some people feel that women 
  15. should never have control over their own bodies, others feel that
  16. women should be able to control their bodies for a bit, but after
  17. a period of time they shouldn't, and still others state simply that
  18. women should have that control always.

  20. Were the issue one of life, then there would be only one exception 
  21. to the banning of abortion:  Risk of life itself.  Rape and incest
  22. have nothing to do with the value of the life of the z/e/f.  
  23. (Someone once reversed the letters, making f/e/z, or fez, if you
  24. remove the slashes.  I think coining a new term "fez" would be 
  25. appropriate, except some people would get hung up on the term 
  26. itself, and short circuit on their perception that my purpose was
  27. to ridicule the z/e/f, rather than make typing easier.)

  29. There may be some fine distinctions that you may have as to when 
  30. abortion is to be allowed, but it is highly unlikely that they will
  31. be written into law.  As someone else pointed out, the law is a 
  32. blunt instrument and is by its very nature incapable of being
  33. wielded with the precision many would like.

  35. Freedom isn't free, as some have pointed out.  Freedom sometimes
  36. costs dearly:  Sometimes the price is life itself.  It may be the
  37. life of an enemy, it may be the life of an innocent in a 
  38. foreign country, it may be your life, or it may be the life of
  39. a z/e/f.

  41. (I have to admit I will be a bit disappointed in this crew if someone
  42. doesn't miss the point and exclaim:  "Well, you aren't free to murder
  43. someone, are you?")
