-
- So far, it seems hard to find how Susan Garvin can claim to plug "I'd be
- tolerant and wouldn't occasionally wipe the floor with his ass" when her
- proven attitude is clearly contradictory to that.
-
- >>># *Suppose they want to join the Catholic Church?

-
- This was largely aimed at Pat Harumphrey and Mark the Irate Cough Man.
-
- Again, folks whose proven attitude grossly contradicts the claim "I'd be
- tolerant."
-

- As I said, ditto.

- Second to Ted Kennedy, of course. At least Helms isn't involved in sex
- scandals...

-
- The attitude is, if the kid doesn't want to face a little heat (as being
- assured a loss of tuition money and so on, is called a "little heat"), they
- ought to either "get enlightened" (translation: abandon pro-life), or stay
- real discreet about it (translation: never ever even let God know you're
- pro-life for fear that He might tell mom & pop in a dream).
-
- And while they might not be like you, you know there are bunches and
- bunches of these folks out there, if they're visible here. The attitude I
- mentioned is no less prevalent than, say, people who sincerely believe
- that pro-life could not survive without the Bible.
-

-
- Tell that to Kaufman and Novak who paint all pro-lifers as bible-thumpers.
-
- Otherwise, you're right.

-
- How's about the show "Roc" on Sunday, August 16, 1992, in which it was
- deemed okay for a TV actor to say, "I play a game when I watch the
- Republican convention. It's called 'Find the Black delegate.'"? Not that I
- take my values off of TV (heck, I watch less and less of the stuff because
- of my growing addiction to newspapers), or assume TV = implied values, but
- if the only place you hear those jokes is on "Roc," you might be in serious
- danger of sun depravation.
-
- In other words, you've got a big portion of Hollywood and the NAACP to talk
- to, if you're to stick by that statement.
-

-
- But it's a good one.
