  28. I beg to differ. The Nurturing Network, run by Mary Cunningham ??? (I
  29. forgot her last name), which supplied a diligent and accomodating
  30. program to help women with crisis pregnancies (and which is dominated
  31. vastly by female workers), according to several sources, included
  32. pro-choice people. 
  33.  
  34. Since she's gotten directly involved in pro-life rallies and such,
  35. since then, I'm not sure if there are any left in TNN anymore. 
  36. IMHO, she should have kept herself distanced from the Pro-Life
  37. Movement. She was doing extremely well for pro-lifers already, as TNN
  38. was dominated by them, and she had Kate Michelman living on the Fringe
  39. because the NARAL wouldn't touch TNN with a ten foot pole and TNN had
  40. the centrist image of having pro-choice staffers - a bridge between
  41. the two movements. The National Right to Life Committee would have
  42. gained pointers because, despite the pro-choice populace, they hailed
  43. TNN, and the NARAL and PP would have looked like numbnutskulls because
  44. they'd have slammed TNN in the name of their extremist agenda.

  46. TNN was, until Mary began seriously identifying herself with pro-life
  47. movements, a public relations nightmare for the pro-choice movement
  48. because they do not have the tools necessary to create their own TNN,
  49. and in addition, it would just be known as a copy-cat maneuver. It
  50. also would not have the ideological diversity that TNN had.

  65. Naw, Suzanne! Let them have a national abortion alternative plan in
  66. the Government.

  68. The problem is, no one would know how to run it except for those who
  69. run the current system of abortion alternatives: the folks from the
  70. various crisis pregnancy centers in America. They would, by default,
  71. be the only people that anyone could find specialized enough to do the
  72. job.

  74. Now, the pro-aborts wouldn't want to have pro-lifers taking over yet 
  75. another government agency, now would they? Which is why you'll _never_
  76. see any help from them, to supply alternatives to abortion, in
  77. society.
