-
- This reminds me of a comment I wanted to make about the HLA, or
- at least this particular version. This states that the life of
- any person (born or unborn) may not be taken by _any other_
- person (again, a person may be born or unborn).
-
- So, if a woman is killed during delivery, is the baby guilty of
- a crime? One born person's life has been taken by an unborn
- person, hasn't it? Another example is that of unborn twins where,
- because of competition for the mother's resources, one ends up
- stillborn. Is the child who survives not guilty of a crime?
-
- I remember from a few weeks ago (while my news server was on the
- fritz) a debate on whether fetuses were "innocent." If this HLA
- is passed, fetuses will become persons, and _all_ persons are held
- accountible for, or can be "guilty" of, taking any other person's
- life. Is this really what those in the pro-life camp want?

-
- While I disagree with you, I wish more people were as pragmatic.
