- I am preparing to order 3D modeling software for our studio library.
- This is stuff that will be used to generate 3D models for later
- expression in a virtual environment.
-
- So far the options I know about include packages from Dimension,
- Straylight, Sense8, VPL, Alias, Wavefront, and a couple homebrew
- systems. There may be others also worthy of investigation.
-
- Has anyone benchmarked these or read of an article that reported on
- them? I know standards are arbitrary at this stage, quite subjec-
- tive based on the modeler's style, but any information would be useful
- given the need to constrain purchases on one ground or another.
-
- Although I'd prefer knowledge obtained through some sort of third-
- party testing, I would welcome manufacturer's performance specs and
- comparisons, too.
-
- Thanks for your help!

- have them! Extra special thanks. :-)
