- Hello All;
- I have just returned from a vacation at the Wisconsin Dells in Wisconsin.
- While there, I have encountered i]something very interesting which has
- turned into quite a mystery. I thought I'd mention it to everyone on the
- net to see if anyone can help me solve this mystery.
-
- First Some background, though. I am a NASA Electronics Engineering
- Technician based at the Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. In my
- spare time, I enjoy helping Students, and Educators to discover the wonders
- of our Space Program, and to initiate Space Science Learning Projects (
- Particularly Space Shuttle and Space Station Simulations) at their schools.
- Now, you'll know why the following event has caught my interest and
- curiosity.
-
- While I was walking into a Wisconsin Dells restaurant, I noticed a kid (
- High School Aged) wearing a T-Shirt which read (On the Front) ...
-
- VIKING-I
- Space Station
- Simulator
- 1990
-
- When I asked the student what that meant, he wasn't sure since he said, he
- borrowed the shirt from a friend. He did think, though that it was a
- amusement ride or attraction nearby. I called everyone I could think of in
- the area who may be connected with a ride, or simulation of this nature but
- no one knew anything about it.
-
- My next thought was that this simulation could have been performed at a
- local school but am puzzled why I didn't see (or notice) the name of the
- school on the shirt. I believe that this person is a local resident rather
- than a vacationer since he made reference to a ride or attraction in the
- area.
-
- I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have any idea about where this
- simulation took place (In 1990) ???
-
- Also ... I'd be interested in learning about anyone else (Students or
- Educators) who are performing either Space Shuttle, or Space Station
- Simulations at their school or within their community ???
-
- Thanks Much !!!
