- Scores as an end unto themselves are another. My personal distaste for
- Mensa isn't that it uses test scores for admission -- it's that the
- admissions standards are the sole purpose of the organization. To me Mensa
- membership seems about as meaningful as inclusion in those vanity books
- peddled on parents like "Who's Who Among American High School Students"
- or any of the various school honor societies with selective admissions
- requirements but no purpose other than to sell a few pins.
