- Unfortunately, funding competition is a fact of life, at least in
- research, petty as it may be. Are SSF and SSC taking money from other
- worthwhile projects? Definitely Yes. To say otherwise would be to
- decieve yourself. Does that mean that SSF and SSC are not worthwhile?
- This is where there is room for debate. It is shortsighted to dismiss
- as hypocritical anyone who is concerned with how SSC and SSF funding
- will affect their own funding. Perhaps this is not what Dale Bass is
- doing, but it sure seems like it.
