  12. Given an enormous multivariate polynomial and a number of *known* factors,  
  13. which is the best way to factor them out of the polynomial? I have access  
  14. to MACSYMA, Mathematica, and Maple, but have had very little succes with  
  15. all. Just asking the programs to "factor" does not work due to the size of  
  16. the expression, but there must be some way of telling these programs  
  17. *which* factors to look for.

  19. I welcome all suggestions, as well as long lectures on algorithms if they  
  20. are intended to teach me something ;-)
