  14. congruential random number generators?

  16. I need fast pseudo-random integers in different ranges. When I change
  17. the modulus, the distribution developes "holes": integers that are
  18. never hit. I tried differnt prime numbers for the multiplier and
  19. increment, but that didn't help much.

  21. (Yes, I'm sure Knuth has the answer, but my copy is 3,000 miles away!
  22. I checked "Numerical Recipies", which basically poo-poos LCRNGs as
  23. semi-useless, and refers the reader to Knuth.)
