- The John Birch Society is telling its members that acid rain is a
- fiction, that the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program
- spent $500 MM looking for evidence of acid rain and damage from
- it and found none, that it is all a conspiracy to take power away
- from their kind of people.
-
- Now this issue, I though, had been fairly well settled some years
- ago, so I don't have any current references, and the libraries
- seem to have nothing on NAPAP except some Congressional Committee
- hearing reports from 1984.
-
- Can anyone please point me at good sources (certainly NOT popular
- books for believers, thank you), or provide or did up from their
- archives the equivalent of an FAQ on this subject? These Birchers
- are probably not persuadable, but others who have read their stuff
- need an antidote.
