- If I recall corectly, you must obtain work experience before
- you can qualify for the P.E. test. The requirement in most states
- is that you have a 4-year degree from an approved program and 4 years
- of work experience, or, a 4-year degree plus a higher degree plus
- 3 years of work experience. Then you can apply for the P.E. test.

- Most states allow reciprocity, as you've already noted. I know that
- California has special requirement, due to the earthquakes. I think
- that New York has some odd rules about reciprocity too. In any case,
- you can contact your State Board of Professional Engineers and Land
- Surveyors. They'll tell you everything you'll want to know.
