- Yes there are a least two versions of 960CA databooks(no timing info given).
-
- 80960CA USER's Manual 1989 ISBN 1-55512-099-7
- i960CA Microprocessor Users Manual 1992 order number 270710-002
-
- There is also datasheets published in intel's 16/32 bit embedded controller
- databooks. The name of the data book seems to change every year so I can't
- give you an exact name.(timing info can be found here)
-
- There is a higher performance addition to the family called 960CF. It is pin
- and source code compatible with the CF. BIGGER CACHES and a DMA controller
- that works. Try to get the extra features (Errata) for the processor and
- the data sheets if you actually intend to build hardware.
- (There are lots of little gotcha's). This applies to both CA & CF versions.
-
- GNU provides an excellent compiler for the 960. Intel also has a GNU version
- which can run on either a PC/UNIX environment.
-
- I have been using this processor for over a year. It is very nice to work
- with from both a H/w and software point of view. It has a very complicated
- set of reset tables due to it's flexibility.
