- In desperation, I took apart the LCD screen unit. My efforts were
- rewarded: the screen is manufactured by Sharp Electronics! The part
- number is definitely "LM64"; this number is printed on one of the PC
- boards inside the screen.
-
- The company name "Fujikura," the only name visible before I took the
- unit apart, was printed on the thin ribbon cable that connected the
- LCD to the Mac. A friend of mine looked up the name in an "Electronic
- Industry Telephone Directory" and found "Fujikura America" as an
- importer. So maybe they import the screen for Sharp? I hope not,
- because if so, I may be out of luck.
-
- Now, I am anxiously awaiting a call-back from my local Sharp
- representative.
