- I can't let that statement go by. Tom Van Flandern states that there
- are early indications from VLBI for the proper motions of quasars. I
- agree that we see many proper motions of blobs down jets, but there is
- no, I repeat no, measurements indicating the proper motion of a quasar
- with respect to other extragalactic objects. One example is the
- measurement by the Bartel group several years ago of the constant
- position between the core of 3C345 and the nearby reference source
- NRAO512, they see the superluminal components moce wrt NRAO512, but
- the core remains stationary.
