  11. I can't let that statement go by. Tom Van Flandern states that there
  12. are early indications from VLBI for the proper motions of quasars. I
  13. agree that we see many proper motions of blobs down jets, but there is
  14. no, I repeat no, measurements indicating the proper motion of a quasar
  15. with respect to other extragalactic objects. One example is the
  16. measurement by the Bartel group several years ago of the constant
  17. position between the core of 3C345 and the nearby reference source
  18. NRAO512, they see the superluminal components moce wrt NRAO512, but
  19. the core remains stationary.
