I agree with you about the hat..its very important to keep your head covered and warm, But COTTON shirt??? Come ON! cotton does nothing to wick away sweat, it doesnt insulate when wet, it sucks for keeping the body anything but cold and wet. Get some polypropolyene or something even more high techish that 1. wicks the sweat away from the body and 2. provides some insulating properties.. and yes, do dress in layers. One other thing to remember is that people tend to over dress in cold weather (when working
out) that causes additional sweating and you could chill more quickly. Try different amounts of layering and observe how cold you are when you first start out and at the mid point of your workout. Its surprising how warm you can become.
