- While it is try that Camp Snoopy in Mall of America is disigned for kids and that
- is the reason the rides are kind of tame, I personally think they missed the mark
- by only going for a kids park. Take a look around you the next time you are at a
- mall and notice that most of the people there, spending money, are young adults
- (14 to 24 year olds). You could make a point that if you have a park that
- attracts those type age group that you cut down on the shopping. I contend that
- if you attract those people, they will visit other areas of the mall and spend
- money. West Edmonton Mall has a fantastic thrill park with some of the best,
- most thrilling rides in Canada. Perhaps, MofA will change as time goes on. Look
- at the way theme parks have changed. At one time putting in a roller coaster in
- the theme park was considered stupid. Then the thinking went, you only need one
- wood coaster in a park. Now most parks of any stature have several wood coasters
- and several steel loopers along with mine trains and the likes.
-
- By the way, as far as coasters go in the Minnesota area goes I can name two that
- I think are pretty good. One I have ridden, the High Roller, at Valleyfair is a
- pretty good wood coaster, all be it short and not too tall. I enjoyed the nice
- negative G's it gave. The second, one I have never ridden but have heard from
- many respective coaster enthusiasts that is a very good coaster, is the Big
- Coaster (please excuse me if it is wrong name), at Arnolds Park in Iowa. It
- looks like a very good coaster and is forgotten by most people (even
- enthusiasts).
