  11.     Has anyone had any experience with using Ammonium
  12. Nitrate, Aluminum powder (missile grade), and epoxy as a
  13. fuel/binder as a solid rocket fuel?
  14.     Right now, I'm using 15% epoxy, 61% Ammonium Nitrate,
  15. and the rest Aluminum (measurements by mass). This produces the
  16. least amount of "black crud" (as it's affectionately known).
  17. This black crud is still sufficient enough to plug the nozzle
  18. and turn a rocket into an expensive firecracker (not that I've
  19. tried it yet).
  20.     I think polyethylene as a fuel/binder would be more
  21. suitable. Where can I find a cheap/pure form of polyethylene?

  23.     What are some other fuel combo's that use aluminum
  24. powder (I still have a drum of it left)? The formula above with
  25. the polyethylene _should_ give me a specific impulse of around
  26. 2.5 (kN/kg/s). Is this a good number? What can I expect of other
  27. mixtures?
