  12. bad news:  my 89 grand am with quad4(36k miles) starts running rough and 
  13. blowing white smoke out the exhaust and coolant light comes on.  take to
  14. dealer...head cracked or warped or gasket ruined.  car is 3 months out of
  15. warranty.

  17. good news:  pontiac decides to do work as warranty since my car was barely
  18. out of warranty with low mileage and they have had quad4 engines do this.
  19. apparently the cooling channels in the head allow airpockets to form and 
  20. hot spots develope which cause trouble over time.  anyway...at least i only
  21. eat the $100 deduct and that is all.

  23. anyone else have head trouble with the quad4?
