- What to look for in a Scout:
- 345 V8
- Torqueflite 727 3 speed automatic TC-407 is the IH designation(I think)
- Dana 20 2 speed transfer case
- Should have Dana 44 front and rear axles.
-
- I bought a '77 with rust for 1350, so 2K for no rust is great.
-
- As to the locations for parts, you are in luck. Many manufacturers make
- aftermarket parts, like urethane bushings, etc. If you need actual Scout Parts,
- then check out Superscout Specialists or Giddum Up Scout. I do not have their
- addresses or phone #'s with me, but they advertise in the back of every
- Petersens Offroad and 4Wheeling. They have a great selection of parts
- and other goodies. If you have any other questions, please ask. Enjoy!
