  12. I'm trying to figure out how much current a starter solenoid draws in
  13. general.  On my 85 Cutlass Ciera, my ammeter shows about 10 amps through
  14. the 12 gauge wire, but is there a spike before that?  I've heard something
  15. about pull-in and hold windings in the solenoids...  Or, do most new cars
  16. have solenoid relays?

  18. Other than broadcasting, I don't know of any way of getting a feel for the
  19. range of currents I can expect on cars...
  20.
