- Not necessarily. I agree that a Jag looks like no other, but the
- engine is a pre-1948 design, and whilst fairly high performance,
- it is expensive to rebuild, can leak like a sieve and basically
- is beaten hands-down by a good small-block. The V8's smaller,
- lighter and more powerful. Parts are a damned sight cheaper in
- most places too. Given that you don't need to modify the body at
- all, it's a win. Only in a Jaguar saloon though, after 1968.
- I would never advocate putting a V8 in any other Jag ('cepting a
- Daimler 2.5, but that's another story).
