- As an owner of a '67 Sunbeam Alpine for 7 years, I know a little about
- the reliability of british cars. The problem is not the engine, it is
- the Lucas electrical system. If you put a jap or any other engine in,
- this problem will still be there. The british engines, at least the
- Sunbeam's is very robust. The electrics leave alot to be desired. My
- Alpine has two fuses for the whole system! Put the correct engine in
- and rewire the beast and you love it for years. Put a japanese motor
- in and don't rewire it and you will have a junker that you can't get
- two cents for. Just my slanted opinion......
