- BS> I have a '57 TR3 with no engine.

-
- My first sports car was a '55 TR2, and I thought the engine was pretty good;
- good performance and excellent gas mileage. I had to do a valve job on it once,
- but otherwise there were no problems. I would expect the later 2.2 l. unit to be
- as good or better.
-
- My advice is to evaluate the car and set some objectives for it. If it can
- readily be restored to fine, original condition, I would install an original
- engine. But if the body and interior are pretty well clapped out, I would
- install a Jap engine.
