- The short answer is yes. Even with the best of styli, tone arm and
- turntable - every time you play a record, you are going to cause
- unrecoverable wear to the record. It may take years to do any noticeable
- damage, with good equipment - with a cheap or improperly adjusted
- turntable, you could cause noticeable damage the first time you played
- the record.

- If you want to maximize the life of the record, record the track on
- tape. Only rerecord when the tape copy wears out.
