- I've been shopping for speakers, and come upon a pair
- of Energy speakers. They are of the 22 line. Since these are Canadian
- speakers, I don't know if they are available south of the border. Just
- in case, has anybody heard of them? Any commentws or suggestions for other
- speakers?

- Energy speakers are available in the US.
- I heard the low end of the Energy line while
- looking for speakers in the $200 price range.
- They have a $200 model-- .1 E -- that is
- fairly impressive for its ~11x6x6 size.
- However, it is ported, and the bass results
- are somewhat uncontrolled. Highs are acceptable,
- midrange a little weak.
-
- The next model up -- 2.1 E -- is $300, and
- I believe, fairly competitive in that range.
- I compared them side-by-side with Boston
- Acoustics and Kefs of the same price.
-
- However, in this 'entry level' speaker range I
- prefer the PSB Alphas (another Canadian Co.),
- and have also heard that the Mirage M190 are
- quite nice for $200.
-
- Shop around; that's half the fun of buying
- speakers.
