  18. Dear Audio-crowd:

  20. I have decided to build my own pair of speakers. This is going 
  21. to be my first time, so I decided to buy a kit. In this way I can 
  22. experiment, but with some guidance, hoping not to be too far 
  23. away from the "correct" (?) tweaking. I would like to get a 
  24. very clear speaker, unfortunatelly in a budget. Here's where I 
  25. am: I got in touch with a very friendly and knowledgable guy in 
  26. the net, who gave me many basic guidances, told me about 
  27. books and papers, and a little bit about drivers.

  29. I've looked at the following kits (not in order of preference 
  30. necessarily), and I would greatly appreciate any advise for the 
  31. final decision on which one to buy:

  35. 1) D'APPOLITO 717 SIGNATURE SPEAKER

  42. I was warned about Kevlar break up, but since this crossover 
  43. is at a very low frequency, I thought it may not be a problem. 
  44. The ad says it has very clerar midrange. (This kit is a little bit 
  45. expensive for me, but I might get there).

  62. The people at Madisound told me that this kit is great. Looking 
  63. at the tweeter curves, the D260 seems to have a big 
  64. attenuation away from the axis starting at less than 10 Khz. It 
  65. seems to me that if you don't listen to your system always 
  66. from the same sofa you could get in trouble.
