- With all of the discussion of J & R Electronics, I find myself in need of
- an opinion of another mail-order store: 6th Avenue Electronics City.
-
- I'm looking to buy an Adcom GFA-555II. The store from which I am buying
- the rest of my system (NAD 5440 and Magnepan 2.6's) wants $850 for the
- Adcom amp. With tax that comes to about $920. 6th Ave. Electronics City
- is selling the same amp for $676 plus $25 shipping. Saving $220 is nothing
- to sneeze at (certainly not for someone with my financial situation!). At
- the same time, I am wondering about the advisability of ordering the product
- this w. How significant is it for an amp like this to have only a 1-year
- "6th Avenue Electronics waranty." The local stereo store price includes a full
- 4-year warranty. I'm not sure what I should do. Any thoughts/alternate places
- to get this amp?
-
- Any help would be appreciated.
