  11. Maureen (aka Jane) asks about the National Writers'Union. If she means the one
  12. in Canada, I can advise her to avoid it. I belonged for several years, but gave
  13. up when it got its collective knickers in a twist about "cultural
  14. appropriation" and who has the right to write stories about whom...this was
  15. several years before the issue hit the Canadian media. I decided I had better
  16. things to do and quit. Life for writers is tough enough without this kind of
  17. self-induced silliness.
