  29. After 35 plus years of technical writing, I know exactly what you are seeing.
  30. For years, nobody knew what technical writing was.  I had to explain and
  31. they still did not know.

  33. Today, the primary experience most people have with technical writing is the
  34. computer manuals they have seen.  Most of the computer manuals delivered
  35. with new computer systems are not very good.  The novice cannot understand how
  36. to get started using the book.  Someone has to teach them.
  37.  
  38. Most major software packages either have better manuals or third-party manuals
  39. are available.  Very few computer system third-party manuals are available.
  40. That is why the bad taste in so many peoples mouths.

  42. Sounds like a new possible market.
