  15.     While you may have heard, it is worth repeating that the
  16. current U.S. Congress is considering a bill which would make scholarships
  17. and fellowships once again exempt from taxes.  This bill also allows
  18. for all taxes that have been paid on scholarships and fellowships
  19. since 1987 (when they were first taxed) to be refunded.

  21.     This is obviously beneficial to the entire academic community,
  22. especially graduated students.  Please write or call your representative and
  23. even senators to voice your support for this bill.

  25. It has been introduced in the House of Representatives as HR 4418 by
  26. Rep. Lewis of Florida.
