- Will ANY reputable insurance company do this? It's not as clearcut as
- some people might think. Let's say you insure your house for $ 50,000
- even though you know it would cost $ 100,000 to replace. A fire causes
- $ 15,000 damage. Would you expect $ 15,000 insurance? The insurance
- company would undoubtedly offer you $ 7500 - the 50% coverage you requested.
- It seems like you'd be better off lowering your rates by accepting a
- very large deductible.
